It is an engraving of the face of Salvador Allende as president of Chile, with an outline of details of landscapes drawn by the author, in which you can glimpse the best known extract his farewell: "Sooner or later it will open the great avenues where pass the free men".
This work is part of the International collection of prints in tribute to Salvador Allende, called The celebration marked the centenary of his birth. This project was attended by prominent latin americans artists who, as part of this centennial, came especially to Chile and were several weeks working in a workshop that was installed in the old railway station of La Serena, in a stimulating and fruitful collective creation process.
Artist Review: Javier Azurdia, born in Chile in 1961 and currently lives in La Antigua Guatemala. Painter craft and digital designer, his work has been awarded in Florence, Rome and Guatemala. His career has taken him to exhibit in France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, United States and Chile.
